Eidos has just announced the first batch of DLC for their online naval warfare game Battlestations: Pacific, the Volcano Map Pack, featuring Volcano and Choke Point, two new maps for multiplayer.

The first, Volcano , is designed for Island Capture, Competitive and Duel multi-player modes and set to the backdrop of a series of Hawaiian style volcanic islands at dawn.
Island capture will see players battling to capture the islands and their huge artillery batteries , Competitive mode sees them attacking or defending a squadron of B-29 Bombers over the Japanese occupied island and Duel pits them against each other round a partially submerged volcano.
The second , Choke Point, is a narrow channel running between two volcanic outcrops in the shadow of a huge volcano, catering to Escort, Siege and Duel play modes.
Escort mode sees the USS Yorktown defending it’s naval fleet against a gauntlet of air and sea attacks in the narrows, Siege mode sets US ground forces the task of disembarking at the base of the main volcano and capturing the Japanese outpost, and Duel puts players head to head in a battle around the volcano.

“Battlestations: Pacific offers a unique multi-player experience and we wanted to create a map pack which would offer players a unique take on this,” said Lee Singleton, General Manager of Eidos Games Studios.
The new maps will be available for PC players to get their hands on through Games for Windows live from the 25th of June.
