A good number of PC gamers are anticipating the release of Windows 7, given some of Windows Vista’s more unstable traits, and Microsoft has finally announced pricing on the OS.
Windows 7 is slated for release on the 22 of October, and anyone buying a new PC between now and then can get it installed for free. The Home Premium edition of Windows 7 will be £79.99 until 31 December 2009 but buying it after that date will cost £149.99
Unlike the rest of the world, Europeans won’t be able to upgrade from the earlier OS to Windows 7, and Internet Explorer 7 won’t be included in the package, with Microsoft citing compliance with European competition regulation as the reason in both cases.
