New directory champions Apple’s iDevice as market leader
Apple’s groundbreaking smartphone, the hugely popular iPhone, is set to become the world’s best device for handheld videogaming according to The iPhone Games Directory.
“With giant publishers such as Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Konami now supporting the device with bigger and better games, which include the likes of Assassin’s Creed, Brothers In Arms, Spore and Metal Gear Solid, the iPhone is fast becoming the handheld gamer’s platform of choice” said iPhone Games Directory Editor ...
Finnish developer Frozenbyte Studios have released a demo of their forth-coming physics based platform/puzzler Trine. It’s currently available on GamersHell and FileFront as a 461MB download.
Trine, with it’s battling Warrior, high swinging Thief and object conjuring Wizard is one of the most charming and promising games we’ve played in a while, and you’ll be able to catch the full review in our next issue. In the meantime, you can briefly ...
I recently went to Paris, to get a look at a third person adventure game called Risen, by German developer Piranha Bytes. Most easily described as a cross between Fable and Oblivion, Risen has you shipwrecked on a medieval fantasy island, needing to arm yourself to survive in the wilds of the island before finding civilisation. The full preview and interview with Kai Rosenkrantz, Audio Director and an overseeing producer at Piranha Bytes will be in Total PC Gaming Issue 21 out ...
As I patiently await the release of Street Fighter IV on the PC, I'm facing the prospect of having to learn how to play my favourite beat 'em up all over again. Don't get me wrong, I play a mean Ken, and have kicked butt for years with a game pad, but in honour of the imminent (please Capcom!) release of the PC version, I'm learning to play with an arcade stick.
It's looking like an expensive proposition as they cost anything between £60 to £200(!!) but ...
I recently got back from a trip in Finland to Frozenbyte Studios- my first as an official TPCG card carrying team member, (badges, we don't need no stinking badges!) and got to play Trine, a charming physics based 2D platform/ puzzle game that's showing a great deal of promise. You might remember Frozenbyte as the team behind the Shadow grounds games.
Being an old school platform game fan, I was instantly drawn to this clever, challenging little game-I only hope the ...
Capcom announced its latest raft of PC releases today, with three of it’s biggest titles lined up to hit the shelves beginning this summer. Starting with Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando in July and following up with Resident Evil 5 little further down the track, all three games will support higher resolutions and have PC-specific features, including full online multiplayer/co-op support. As reported yesterday Street Fighter IV will have three ...
Capcom has revealed the PC version of Street Fighter IV will use Games for Windows Live to provide multiplayer upon its release this summer. GFWL will be the basis of voice chat and the full range of Achievements. In keeping with our prediction that the PC version would come with a few more bells and whistles, Capcom have included optional ...

...or the week, at least. I met a bloke at a party this weekend, a telecommunications engineer who was in the process of hooking up hundreds of homes to broadband. The subject naturally turned to games, which isn't the kind of casual chat that endears you to women if you're looking to score on a Saturday night, but seeing as the party was rapidly turning into a sausage-fest, I went along with the topic anyway.
Bob, or whatever his name was, was a huge advocate of mobile ...
